The use of ATM skimmers, which steal credit and debit card information, is on the rise in Southern California, prompting concern among consumers and law enforcement. Last month, the FBI's Los Angeles office dealt a major blow to this illicit activity by breaking up an organized crime ring responsible for operating skimmers in over 80 locations throughout the region.
