Alex Murdaugh’s Bid for a New Trial Commences Amid Jury Tampering Allegations

The courtroom drama surrounding the case of former South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh has entered a new chapter as a hearing to determine whether he should be granted a new murder trial is now underway. Murdaugh was convicted in March of last year for the murder of his wife and son.

The crux of the hearing revolves around allegations of jury tampering, with Murdaugh's defense team contending that the court clerk for Colleton County, Becky Hill, tampered with the jury during the trial. Hill, however, vehemently denies any inappropriate discussions with jurors.
