In a crucial development, Judge Martin Fein has ruled that Howard Steven Ault, the convicted child rapist and killer, is competent to undergo resentencing. The decision comes ahead of the scheduled jury selection, which is set to commence tomorrow.

Howard Steven Ault, convicted in 1999 for the heinous crimes of luring seven and eleven-year-old sisters to his Fort Lauderdale residence, faced allegations of raping one of the sisters in front of the other and subsequently strangling both victims. Ault's two prior death sentences were successfully appealed based on technicalities.
