A newly uncovered disinformation campaign, dubbed "Spamouflage," is allegedly being operated by Chinese government-backed social media accounts in an attempt to sway U.S. political debate ahead of the 2024 presidential election. A report released this week by Graphika, a research organization that tracks disinformation, details the sophisticated online campaign designed to promote discord among American voters on issues such as gun control, racial inequality, and the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
