A regional airport in southwestern Japan was temporarily shut down on Wednesday after a likely World War II-era U.S. bomb exploded near a runway, causing significant disruptions. The explosion, which left a crater approximately 23 feet wide and over three feet deep, forced airport authorities to cancel nearly 90 flights, impacting thousands of travelers.
