Mexican Navy Seizes 8,000 Pounds of Cocaine in Massive ‘Narco Sub’ Bust Near Acapulco

In a significant blow to international drug trafficking, the Mexican Navy has intercepted a “narco sub” carrying nearly 8,000 pounds (3.6 tons) of cocaine off the coast of Acapulco. The semi-submersible vessel, often used by drug traffickers for its ability to evade detection, was spotted in the Pacific Ocean earlier in the week. Upon intercepting the vessel, Navy officials discovered over 100 packages tightly packed with bricks of cocaine, marking one of the largest single seizures in recent months.
