A new CBS News/YouGov poll reveals a sharp divide among Americans regarding Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), as the agency continues its controversial mass firings of federal workers. The survey shows that 54% of respondents believe Musk and DOGE wield at least "some" influence over U.S. government spending and operations, while 46% say they have "not much" or no power at all. The poll also finds that just over half of those surveyed think Musk and DOGE are exerting too much control over federal employment decisions.
