The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is currently hearing arguments concerning the Trump administration's invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport Venezuelan nationals alleged to be members of the Tren de Aragua gang. This legal action follows a temporary restraining order issued by U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, which halted the deportations and mandated the return of flights already in transit. Despite this order, some flights proceeded to their destinations, leading to heightened tensions between the judiciary and the executive branch.
