Just hours after President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire with Iran, which he claimed would bring peace to the Middle East, Israel conducted its largest attack on Lebanon in years. Iran and Pakistan say that Lebanon is a party to the truce, while the US and Israel argue it is a separate conflict. 

On Wednesday, over 100 Israeli airstrikes pummeled Lebanon, striking civilian targets including a funeral and the home of a journalist. Tel Aviv ordered the attack just hours after Trump said Tehran had agreed to a truce.
