Barge Collision Causes Partial Collapse of Texas Bridge

This morning, a barge collided with the Pelican Island Causeway bridge in Galveston, Texas, causing a significant portion of the structure to fall. The incident occurred on the railroad side of the bridge, which is the sole connection between Galveston and Pelican Island.

Despite the dramatic nature of the accident, officials confirm that no injuries or rescues have been reported. Emergency crews are currently on-site, assessing the extent of the damage to the bridge.
