In Coldspring, TX, Prosecutors in San Jacinto County have announced their intention to seek the death penalty for Francisco Oropeza, the man accused of gunning down five of his neighbors, including a nine-year-old child, in a Cleveland subdivision last April.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred after Oropeza's neighbors repeatedly requested that he cease firing his weapon within his yard. The incident has sent shockwaves through the close-knit community and marks the first capital murder trial in San Jacinto County in twenty years.
