Tragedy strikes Effingham County, Georgia, as a sitting judge takes his own life in his courtroom, leaving the community and legal system in shock. The incident occurred during a break in proceedings at the Effingham County Courthouse, where the judge, whose name has not been officially released, was presiding over a routine session.

According to Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the judge was found unresponsive in his chambers adjacent to the courtroom.
