Israel and Hezbollah continue to exchange fire across the Lebanese border following the deadliest day in Lebanon in nearly two decades. Israeli airstrikes targeted Beirut on Tuesday, reportedly killing a high-ranking commander of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group, according to Israeli military officials.

The ongoing violence escalated dramatically on Monday when Lebanese officials reported that over 500 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes, including dozens of women and children. The strikes have devastated large parts of southern Lebanon, exacerbating fears of a wider regional conflict.
