Israeli Tank Fires on UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon

The UN peacekeeping (UNIFIL) force in southern Lebanon came under fire from Israeli soldiers. The IDF has repeatedly attacked UNIFIL positions since it invaded and occupied Lebanon.

“This morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fired on UNIFIL peacekeepers from a Merkava tank from near a position Israel has established in Lebanese territory,” UNIFIL wrote on X Sunday. “Heavy machine gun rounds hit approximately five meters from the peacekeepers, who were on foot and had to take shelter in the terrain.”
