‘No Easy Options’: Europe Attempts to Fill Ukraine’s Massive Budget Gap

Ukraine will need over $150 billion from its Western backers in 2026 and 2027. The President of the European Commission admitted there were no easy options. 

In a letter to the leaders of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen argued it was essential for the bloc to plug Ukraine’s $157 billion budget gap over the next two years.
