Seven San Antonio Police Officers Injured in Shootout with Barricaded Suspect

On the evening of January 22, 2025, seven officers from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) sustained non-life-threatening injuries during a confrontation with a barricaded suspect in the Stone Oak neighborhood. The incident began when officers responded to a "suicide in progress" call at an apartment complex on Stone Oak Parkway.

Upon arrival, the first responding officer was met with gunfire from the suspect, identified as a man in his 40s. Subsequently, six additional officers were shot during the exchange. All injured officers were promptly transported to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
