Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, has surrendered to law enforcement and is now in federal custody, facing charges of bank fraud totaling $16 million. Mizuhara appeared in a Los Angeles court for the first time on Friday (April 12), where he was ordered released on a $25,000 bond.

During the court proceeding, which lasted about 25 minutes, Mizuhara did not enter a plea. The U.S. District Court magistrate judge, Maria Audero, set an arraignment date for May 9, where Mizuhara will. . .
