Suspect in Trump Golf Course Incident Faces Federal Firearms Charges, No Assassination Attempt Filed

Ryan Routh, the 58-year-old man arrested near former President Donald Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, faces federal firearms charges, but not an attempted assassination charge, according to Stuart Kaplan, a former FBI special agent turned criminal defense attorney in Palm Beach County. Routh, a convicted felon, appeared in federal court where he was charged with possessing a firearm and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
