Religion, it is said, is a good thing for good people and an evil thing for evil people. Now whether or not man is created in God’s image is moot. It depends on how one studies and understands the Bible.
The problem to be dealt with however is not of an exegetical nature. In the course of Western history the evil as well as the good have, with the help of their various Biblical faiths, made themselves believe they are so adorned, with God’s image.
It has made some courageous beyond measure, and others ,the majority I fear, arrogant and ruthless without bounds.

Wow, Francis was even worse than Rodrigo Borgia, was he? I have to tell you, I hope he’s the last pope. Popes have been no credit to Christianity. I’m a big fan of Jesus as I understand who he was, but I have no use for religious hierarchies.
