The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is issuing an urgent public advisory warning travelers to avoid using public USB charging stations at airports amid growing concerns over a cybercrime tactic known as “juice jacking.” The alert comes as cybersecurity incidents linked to data theft via USB ports increase at major transit hubs across the United States.

Juice jacking is a form of digital theft in which cybercriminals install malicious software on public charging kiosks or USB ports. Once a device is plugged in, the malware can be used to access personal data, install spyware, or even take control of the device. . .
