U.S. Suspends Funding to UN Palestinian Refugee Agency Amidst Allegations

Washington, DC - In response to claims from Israeli authorities linking 12 United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) staff members to Hamas's October attack on Israel, the Biden administration has decided to temporarily halt funding for the UN body responsible for Palestinian refugees.

The UNRWA, which provides crucial aid and services to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, acknowledged the allegations and stated that it has terminated the employment of several workers implicated in the incident. Israeli authorities accuse the staff members of being involved in the Hamas attack.
