The US is moving some parts of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in South Korea to the Middle East. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said he opposes moving the system out of his country. 

According to two officials speaking with the Washington Post, US forces have begun moving some components of the THAAD system in South Korea to the Middle East. THAAD is one of America’s most advanced missile defense systems, and its radars are key to its layered air defense.
