Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez denounced military provocation by Trinidad and Tobago in coordination with the CIA, claiming that Caracas arrested mercenaries working with the US intelligence agency.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces to the international community the dangerous realization of 'military exercises' on the part of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, with the funding and control of the [US Southern Command], which constitutes a hostile provocation against Venezuela and a grave threat to the peace of the Caribbean,” the statement from Rodríguez said. . . .
