The chief of the World Health Organization (WHO) said over 900 Palestinians have died waiting for permission to leave Gaza for medical treatment. Israel has damaged or destroyed almost all of the hospitals in the Strip and is preventing Palestinians from leaving Gaza to seek treatment abroad.
In a video statement posted on X Sunday, Director-General of the WHO Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned, “More than 16,500 patients, including almost 4000 children, are awaiting evacuation to receive urgent care outside of Gaza."He continued, “More than 900 people have died while waiting for medical evacuation.”
