A somewhat mysterious monolith that captivated social media users and stirred widespread intrigue after being discovered on a mountain outside of Las Vegas has been removed. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirms that the rectangular monolith was taken down late last week due to public safety and environmental concerns.
