A century-old mystery was safely unraveled this week when a 100-year-old time capsule, buried in 1924 at Kansas City's Liberty Memorial, was carefully opened with the help of the Kansas City Police Department’s Bomb and Arson Unit. The capsule, which had been sealed beneath the iconic memorial, is now offering historians and the public a unique glimpse into the post-World War I era.
