Delta Air Lines Flight 876, a Boeing 717-200, was forced to turn back to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport early Monday after smoke filled the cabin shortly after takeoff. The flight, which was scheduled to travel to Columbia, South Carolina, experienced an emergency situation just minutes into the journey, prompting a rapid response from the flight crew and an urgent landing back at the departure airport.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. local time when passengers and crew members noticed a hazy smoke spreading inside the aircraft. Some passengers reported a burning smell before the smoke. . .
