With the holiday travel season fast approaching, the Biden administration is putting airlines on notice: take care of your passengers or face the consequences. This stern warning comes after a tumultuous December 2022, where thousands of flight cancellations left travelers stranded and frustrated.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made the administration's stance clear in a recent statement: "We're taking accountability to another level this year," he declared. "We've already secured a record-setting civil penalty against one airline, and we're not afraid to use the full extent of our authority to hold others accountable if they fail. . .
