FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker Announces Resignation Amid Boeing Scrutiny

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Mike Whitaker has announced his resignation, effective January 20th, marking the end of a tumultuous tenure defined by increased oversight of the aviation industry. Whitaker, confirmed to a five-year term in October of last year, steps down amid ongoing scrutiny of aircraft manufacturer Boeing and production challenges within the aviation sector.

The announcement comes as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office, with no nominee yet announced for Whitaker’s replacement.
