A tragic maritime smuggling operation off the coast of San Diego results in the deaths of three migrants, including a 14-year-old boy and the presumed death of his 10-year-old sister, as a packed boat carrying undocumented immigrants capsizes near Torrey Pines State Beach. The vessel, believed to be operated by smugglers linked to organized criminal networks, was transporting 16 people when it overturned on May 5, 2025.
