In a bold move towards water self-sufficiency, Los Angeles County leaders have adopted a comprehensive plan that aims to collect billions more gallons of water from local sources by 2045. Currently, the county imports nearly two-thirds of its water from distant sources. The new plan seeks to dramatically shift this reliance, aiming to acquire 80% of the county's water needs from local sources within the next two decades.
