A new study by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) reveals that drinking water across the United States contains hundreds of contaminants, exposing millions of Americans to unsafe levels of chemicals, metals, and radioactive substances. The report raises concerns about the long-term health risks associated with contaminated water supplies and calls for stricter regulations to address the widespread issue.

The study finds that harmful substances such as arsenic, lead, nitrates, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly known as “forever chemicals,” are present in drinking water systems nationwide.
