Lithuania announced that a new deployment of US troops will be arriving in the Eastern European nation in the coming days. US service members rotated out of Lithuania over the summer without being immediately replaced, raising questions about whether Washington would continue its rotational presence in the country.
“I have just received confirmation that the new rotation of US troops is already on its way to Lithuania!” President Gitanas Nausėda wrote on X Tuesday. "The US military presence in Lithuania is an indispensable part of our deterrence and collective defense."
