GM and UAW Closing In On Labor Deal After Prolonged Negotiations

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union and General Motors (GM) may be on the verge of reaching a labor deal, providing a glimmer of hope for the end of the prolonged strike. Following extensive negotiations, discussions continued today after continuing through the night into the early morning. The potential agreement would be patterned after the tentative deal reached earlier this week between the UAW and Ford, with Stellantis also showing signs of nearing an accord, though the timing of their meeting remains uncertain. Auto workers have been on strike since September 14th, awaiting a resolution to their labor concerns.
